हमारे भारत देश कि संस्कृति विश्व प्रसिद्ध है। वेद भी उसी संस्कृति का एक अहम हिस्सा है। वेद हमारे जीवन का आधार है। वेदों की संख्या चार है। 1. ऋवेद:- यह प्राचीनतम वेद है, इसमे १० मण्डल तथा १०२८ सूक्त है।    - इसमें गायत्री मंत्र का उल्लेख है, जो सूर्य से सम्बन्धित देवी सावित्री को संबोधित है। 2. सामवेद:-  इसमें संकलित मंत्रों को यज्ञ के अवसर पर देवताओं की स्तुति के लिए गाया जाता है।    - इसे 'भारतीय संगीत का मूल' कहा जाता है। 3. यजुवृेद:-  यह एकमात्र ऐसा वेद है जिसकी रचना पध्य तथा गध्य दोनों में की गई है।    - यह मूलतः कर्मकाण्ड प्रधान ग्रंथ है। 4. अथवेद:-  इसमें ब्रह्म ज्ञान, औषधि प्रयोग, रोग निवारण, जन्त्र-मन्त्र, टोना-टोटका आदि का वर्णन है।
